“Energy Efficiency Financial Mechanisms - How to make EE bankable?”

The league of Arab States in cooperation with RCREEE, GIZ and MED-ENEC organized a round table discussion on “Energy Efficiency Financial Mechanisms – How to make EE bankable?” in Cairo, Egypt from 6 to 7 December, 2015.

In his opening session, Ahmed Badr, RCREEE executive director welcomed the attendees and introduced RCREEE mission in the field of energy efficiency and the means of building EE markets in the MENA region. The speakers’ presentations addressed issues related to the Arab region energy efficiency monitoring and evaluation schemes and the Arab energy efficiency achievements and future plans.  In addition, the attendees were introduced to the development and progress of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) in the Arab countries.

Moreover, the event included a number of panel discussions where the speakers discussed governmental experiences and plans to stimulate investments in EE financing, and influence of market size, technical design and relevant technologies on the investment climate.
