"Energy Efficiency, a tool for the implementation of the SDG7” workshop

October1, 2018 -Kigali, RWANDA: The African Commission of Energy, in collaboration with the International Agency of Energy ‘IAE’ and the Ministry in charge of Energy and Water of the Republic of Rwanda organized its 1st workshop under the theme ‘Energy Efficiency, a tool for the implementation of the SDG7”.

The workshop presented AFREC’s work in the region with different countries and institutions. RCREEE Senior Sustainable Energy Expert, Ms. Sara Ibrahim Elhag provided a presentation focusing on its role in helping the countries in the MENA region develop their EE indicators. Round discussions were held to identify the situation/development of EE sector in different African countries/regions and to agree on future cooperation in order to work collaboratively towards achieving SDG energy goal.

The workshop united 33 participants from 16 national focal points from countries of (the Central African region, East Africa, North Africa, Southern Africa and Western Africa) as well as :( PEAC, EACREEE, NEPAD, ECAAS, RCREEE, WAPP, ECREEE, AfDB, SAPP and the AEEP consultant and IEA).
