Regional NDC Dialogue for Asia and Arab States

October 3-5, Bangkok: RCREEE participated Regional NDC Dialogue co-organised by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Secretariat of UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) and kindly hosted by the Government of Thailand.

The Dialogue provided an opportunity for countries to exchange experiences of transitioning from INDCs to NDCs, using NDCs as a driver for sustainable development and operationalizing NDCs, with a particular focus on scaled-up investments in the energy sector and on mainstreaming gender in countries’ NDCs. During the event panel discussion attendees discussed the difficulties, barriers, best practice examples for the implementation of NDCs and unlocking investments.

Participants included representatives of ministries, different national agencies and authorities, and international organizations. Representing RCREEE our International Relations and Development Coordinator, Ms. Laura Wiehler participated at the dialogue.

To date, the Regional Dialogues have convened over 200 governments from 150 developing countries through global workshops and regional dialogues.
