Arab Forum on Renewable Energy Begins in Egypt
(MENAFN - Muscat Daily): The second Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency began in Hurghada City, Egypt on Wednesday.
The sultanate's delegation to the two-day forum is being led by Dr Ali bin Hamad al Ghafri, assistant chairman for International Relations and Conferences in the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW).
The forum is being held in conjunction with the Energy Administration at the Arab League, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the MED-ENEC Project on Energy Efficiency in the Construction Sector.
This forum aims to provide a platform for dialogue among stakeholders including policymakers, international and regional experts sustainable energy and green economy, SMEs, technology suppliers and financial institutions.
The forum will address the role that SMEs play in advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency in the Arab region and look into the financial, legal and institutional mechanisms needed to reinforce this role.
