Regional Round table for North Africa & the Mediterranean
22-23 October, Morroco: RCREEE Environemtn Expert, Mr. Ahmed Khalil represented RCREEE at the Regional Roundtable for North Africa and the Mediterranean. This round table was organized by the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC or GABC) together with the Ministry of National Land Use Planning, Urbanism, Housing and City Policy of the Kingdom of Morocco (MHPV), and the Programme for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (PEEB).
RCREEE shared its experience in the EE & RE in building sector in Arab region beside discussing the opportunities to be one of the GlobalABC member. The round table has attended by country representatives ( Egypt- Tunisia- Morocco- Algeria- Lebanon- Jordan- France- Turkey), consultant Firms, regional centers and UN organizations.
Round tables are designed to facilitate networking and cooperation objectives by providing a platform for national governments and other buildings and construction stakeholders to exchange technical knowledge and best practices, to enhance the cooperation between the GlobalABC present and future members, and to involve the member countries in the global dialogue. During the 2-day round table, attendees mainly focused upon:
- Resilience and adaptation of the buildings and construction sector to climate change
- Implementing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and MRV (Measurement, Reporting and Verification) systems
- Best practice exchange for financing energy efficiency in buildings
