Dr. Zoheir Hamedi is an international energy expert specializing in energy policy, energy transition, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable development
He holds a PhD in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from Durham University (UK), with a focus on energy diversification in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries (GCC) by 2050. Dr. Hamedi also holds a Master’s in international relations from the University of Nantes (France), and a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Economics, from the American University in Cairo (Egypt)
His career spans roles including, Head of the MENA Region at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Assistant Professor of International Relations and Energy Policy at Qatar University, Researcher at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Doha, Qatar, and a Senior official at Sonatrach in the Directorate of Strategic Planning and Economy in Algeria.
