meetMED sub-regional workshop on "The Creation of Regional Industrial Associations for the Manufacturing of EE and RES Components"

Under the framework of meetMed project, RCREEE is organizing a sub-regional workshop on “Creation of Regional Industrial Associations for the Manufacturing of EE and RES Components “ on November 13, 2019 in Cairo, Egypt.

The workshop is part of meetMED activities aiming to prepare a concept note outlining realistic options for supporting the creation of regional structured industrial associations at national or/and regional level  for the  EE and RE sectors in the SEMCs. It' is bringing together key stakeholders from Mashreq countries to discuss and elaborate on possible modalities for supporting the creation of EE & RE industrial associations and will serve as a basis for the creation of a solid industrial clusters activity.

Since the launch of the project, RCREEE conducted an extensive literature review, desk research and data collection followed by the design of a questionnaire submitted to different stakeholders  and stakeholders’ consultations have been performed in different Mashreq countries, including Lebanon and Egypt. These consultations enabled the team to fill the gaps identified during the desk research and literature review and strengthen the analysis.

The meetMED (Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean Region)Project is an EU-funded project developed by the Mediterranean Association of National Agencies for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (MEDENER) together with the Regional Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).
