RCREEE joins IBEF session on Home Appliances Efficiency

September 27, 2019 – Beirut, Lebanon: On the side of the 10th edition of International Beirut Energy Forum, RCREEE Senior Sustainable Energy Expert, Sara Ibrahim Elhag presented key results of meetMED activities tackling home appliances efficiency.

In her presentation, Eng. Elhag introduced meetMED activities and objectives focusing on Activity A3.3 “Assessment of Appliances Share of Total Energy Consumption in the Southern Eastern Mediterranean Countries (SEMCs).

At a national level, Lebanon is currently developing three laws for MEPS and Labels with a special focus on customs exception for imported standardization and labeled appliances and banning inefficient appliances. Also, financing mechanisms are currently available for residential, commercial, industrial and non-profit users. These insights were shared in comparison with the current developments taking place in Egypt.
