Amman hosts the 29th meeting of the Regional Center’s Board of Trustees – Ministry of Energy announces Amman Sustainable Energy Week 2026 in May

The Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) held its 29th meeting in Amman, Jordan, under the chairmanship of Engineer Abbas Attia Eden, with the participation of representatives of member states, to discuss the latest developments in the work of the Center and review the progress made in the implementation of its regional programs and initiatives, in addition to discussing ways to enhance Arab cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The meeting, held on February 2 and 3, 2026, discussed a number of strategic issues related to the center’s future work plans, strengthening its role as a regional umbrella supporting decision makers and a platform for the exchange of expertise, in addition to supporting national policies aimed at accelerating the transition towards sustainable energy in line with the priorities of member states and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Members of the Board of Trustees emphasized the importance of continuing joint Arab action to address the growing challenges in the region’s energy sector, especially in the areas of energy transition, reducing carbon emissions and promoting investments in clean energy projects, praising the pivotal role played by the center in providing technical and institutional support to member states.
During the meeting, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources/Board Member for Jordan, Engineer Amani Al Azzam, announced the organization of “Amman Sustainable Energy Week 2026” The event, organized by RCREEE, is an important regional platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange between decision makers, experts and the private sector.
Azzam added that Jordan’s hosting of the Board of Trustees meeting reflects the Kingdom’s firm commitment to support joint Arab action in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, promote the exchange of expertise and build regional partnerships, thereby contributing to achieving energy security and sustainable development in the region.
The Board of Trustees meeting was preceded by a meeting of the Center’s Executive Committee, chaired by Major General Mohamed Issa, where preparations were supervised and agenda items and technical and administrative issues were discussed in preparation for presentation to the Board of Trustees.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees expressed their thanks and appreciation to Jordan and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the generous hospitality and good organization, appreciating the efforts of all parties and institutions that contributed to the success of the meeting and the achievement of its objectives.
