Bahrain

Bahrain is an important non-OPEC member oil and natural gas producer in the region. Still, the country import fossil fuels to meet its domestic energy needs, which are entirely based on fossil fuels. Bahrain is planning to increase its electricity generating capacity The government is making efforts to integrate more renewable energy in its energy mix, and aims to achieve 10% of electricity generation from renewable energy resources by 2035. Bahrain has made a major step forward in Energy Efficiency by adopting the country’s first NEEAP in 2017.

Bahrain is a RCREEE member state since 2008.
