Capacity building workshop on “Improving Resource Assessment Practice in Middle East”

Under the framework of The Pan-Arab Clean Energy Initiative (PACE), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), League of Arab States (LAS), and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) co-organized a virtual capacity building workshop entitled “Improving Resource Assessment Practice in Middle East: A Solution to Streamline Early-Stage Solar and Wind Market Planning” on 9 December 2021.

“We, at RCREEE, will continue strengthening the capacities of Arab professionals and institutions in collaboration with our partners and on the forefront the League of Arab States (LAS) and IRENA. I would like to thank IRENA and LAS for their leadership in taking this initiative forward and providing this important support to the Arab countries” said Dr. Jauad El Kharraz, RCREEE Executive Director, during his opening statement

The workshop aimed to deliver the second phase of the Arab Region Zoning project, by focusing on the technical aspects of the zoning assessment methodology and results. It also provided an avenue for countries to share their experiences with renewable energy project planning.
