Mauritania chairs the Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) at the twentieth BoT meeting held in Cairo.
Engineer Muhammad Al-Shaabi,  the Member of the BoT for the Republic of Yemen, handed over the Presidency of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) to Eng. Muhammad Yarguett, the Member of the BoT for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the host country, the Arab Republic of Egypt, who in turn thanked Dr. Muhammad Al-Sha’abi for his efforts during his tenure as president, wishing more success and advancement for the work of The Regional Center.
As a reminder, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) is an intergovernmental organization with a diplomatic status that aims to activate and increase the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency practices across the Arab countries. The center’s team seeks in cooperation with governments, international organizations, international financing institutions and the private sector (for through various partnerships) to initiate and guide dialogues on sustainable energy policies, strategies, technologies, capacity development, and management of platforms to facilitate renewable energy and energy efficiency investments to increase Arab countries’ share of tomorrow’s modern energy solutions. With 17 Arab countries joining the membership, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency seeks to increase initiatives and technical expertise in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency in all Arab countries.
