RCREEE co-organizes capacity building workshop for “Renewable Energy Auctions in Arab Countries”

Under the framework of The Pan-Arab Clean Energy Initiative (PACE), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), League of Arab States (LAS), and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) are organizing an online capacity building workshop on “Renewable Energy Auctions in Arab Countries” on 1-2 November 2021.

The Pan-Arab Clean Energy Initiative (PACE), is one of the initiatives included in the Roadmap of Actions for the implementation of the Pan-Arab Sustainable Energy Strategy 2014-2030. It is a regional initiative that aims to promote the integration of greater shares of renewables into power systems of the Arab region.

RCREEE Executive Director, Dr. Jauad El Kharraz will be among the speakers in the opening session for this regional capacity building workshops.

The workshop will share IRENA’s framework and insights regarding renewable energy auctions, and considerations, best practices, lessons learnt and specific case studies, with a focus on the African context. The workshop will include a combination of informative presentations, case study analyses, interactive exercises and question and answer (Q&A) discussion sessions.
