The Palestinian energy sector is almost entirely dependent on energy imports. 89% of the total electricity supply comes from the Israel Electric Corporation, while 3% comes from Egypt and Jordan. The share of installed energy capacity in Palestine is entirely dependent on fossil fuels. Palestine aims to achieve 10% of national electricity production from renewable energy by 2020. A National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) was adopted in 2012 with energy efficiency targets saving 5% cumulative energy by 2020.
Palestine has been a member state of RCREEE since 2008.
