The League of Arab States and RCREEE celebrates the 5th edition of the Arab Energy Efficiency Day

The Arab EE day was jointly organized by the Secretariat of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity (Energy Department of the League of Arab States), the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) on May 21, 2017 at the league of Arab states premises.

During the Arab Energy Efficiency Day, EcoSolar was announced as the winner of this year’s Arab Energy Efficiency Competition on “the best emerging company in the energy efficiency field 2017” in the Arab countries.

In recognition of their effort, Mr. Tarek El Shafie, Eco Solar CEO was awarded the Arab League trophy . In addition, the company received a financial award and the project summary will be published on the Arab Energy Efficiency Day website (www.arabeeday .net ) and on other associated sites.

This year, the day activities included a panel discussion on the social aspect of energy efficiency projects and their impact on the Arab market.

In addition, the event was attended by government officials, public sector, and international organization representatives, as well as Arab energy and power students and professors.

“These celebrations and competitions will encourage research and innovation. Moreover, it contributes to raising the awareness of the Arab society on energy efficiency issues and accordingly change the behavior of energy consumers in our Arab societies.” Says the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the Economic Affairs sector at the league of Arab States, Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali.
