Applications now open for 22nd edition of the Micro-Grid Academy
The Micro-Grid Academy, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), AVSI foundation, Strathmore University and with the support of Enel Foundation, announces the opening of the applications for the 22nd edition of Micro-Grid Academy. The sessions will be held online between the 1st of March and the 10th of March 2022.
The course will provide a general overview on economic, financial, managerial, and business development aspects of the renewable energy, as well as technical topics such as:
● Module 1.1 – Introduction to Decentralized energy systems (DRE)
● Module 4.1 Procurement and Construction
● Module 4.2 DRE economics, business models and micro project financing
● Module 4.3 Energy policy, legal and regulatory framework
This edition will target around 120 applicants from the Horn of Africa and MENA region for the first time, including Mauritania, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Djibouti, Libya, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria. Participants in the sector of renewable energy and the just energy transition are highly advised to apply whether they are technicians, students, operators, entrepreneurs, professionals from local universities, public-private, companies, start-ups.
The session’s main channel of training will be the video lectures and field visits in Mauritania, which will be confirmed at a later stage could be arranged. The MGA provides a certificate of attendance to all participants who have successfully completed the 22nd edition.
