About RCREEE
The Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) is an independent intergovernmental organization, which aims to enable and increase the adoption of renewable energy, and energy efficiency practices in the Arab region. RCREEE teams with regional governments and global organizations to initiate and lead clean energy policy dialogues, strategies, technologies, and capacity development to increase Arab states’ share of tomorrow’s energy.
Job Description
The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Specialist will play a key role in supporting the implementation of renewable energy projects and energy efficiency initiatives within the organization. They will work closely with the technical department to ensure the sharing of the best standards and practices in all renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of renewable energy projects and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Provide effective support to RCREEE member states in their efforts to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
- Conduct technical assessments and analysis to identify opportunities for renewable energy integration and energy efficiency improvements.
- Provide technical expertise on renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency measures.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency practices.
- Support the development of policies and regulations in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Requirements and Competencies
Minimum qualification requirements:
- Minimum of a master’s degree or enrolled in a master’s degree from a recognized university in engineering, renewable energy, energy economics, or related field.
- Four (4) years of professional experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (verbal and written), and French will be highly recommended.
- Knowledge of energy economics is a plus.
Knowledge of standards and guidelines related to renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
Experience:
- Strong analytical skills and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in project management and team coordination.
- Experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and promote teamwork.
- Proven experience in energy at the regional level is desirable.
The Candidate is required to have:
- Proficiency in renewable energy modeling tools and software such as MATLAB and Python.
- Demonstrated experience conducting energy audits in industrial and building sector environments.
General Terms and Conditions
- The Candidate is required to work from RCREEE’s Cairo office.
Tenure of Appointment
- The initial appointment will be for 12 months including a 3-month probation period.
- Contract extension will be subject to performance, needs, and availability of funds.
