A project implemented for the benefit of the Ministry of Local Development with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a grant from the European Union (EU), to implement the investment plan for the solid waste management system.
Outputs:
- Establishment of 5 waste processing and recycling plants
- Implementation of 2 intermediary stations
- Supply of equipment for collection, transport, processing, and disposal
- Construction of 13 garages
- Closure of Qalabsho landfill
Impact:
Supervising the implementation of the investment plan for the municipal solid waste management system for the governorates of Dakahlia, Gharbia, and Kafr El-Sheikh.
- Closure of public landfills
- Rehabilitation of equipment collection and transport garages to ensure the sustainability of the solid waste management system in the governorates
- Establishment of intermediary stations for waste collection
- Assisting in environmental and social impact assessment procedures
