During REN21 2021 General Assembly on December 14, the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) was elected as one of REN21 steering committee members.
RCREEE now holds one of the 10 seats for inter-governmental organizations along with the European Commission, Global Environment Facility (GEF), International Energy Agency (IEA), International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Islamic Development Bank, World Bank, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE).
REN21 steering committee members are industry associations, governments, inter-governmental organizations, NGOs, and academic and scientific institutions that support REN21 three main objectives:
- Building collectively a sustainable energy future based on renewable energy,
- Providing knowledge with data and information
- Shaping debates to make how we think about renewable energy evolve
